OPEN HOUSES

We were very fortunate to have two of our members host open houses on Thursday afternoon and evening.

Priscilla Sherwood's Open House

First we drove to Priscilla Sherwood’s home. Priscilla has a wonderful collection of Mottoware, Kingfishers, Cottageware, Fruit Decorations, and because of her love of the seacoast, seagulls and ships. A light dinner was served.

Pat DeLuca's Open House

We then travelled on  to Pat DeLuca’s home for dessert. Pat has a beautiful collection of Art Pottery, unusual Scandy and Scroll decorated pots and a variety of other unique pieces. And not a cottage in sight!

Kathy Collin's Open House on Sunday morning

Kathy and Curt Collins’ invited us to their home for a great breakfast and open house. We travelled by school bus to the Open House to see Kathy’s varied collection including Faience, Crown Dorset, Mottoware and Shamrocks pots. It’s been said that she has never met a piece of Torquay pottery she didn’t like!

Boston Duck Tour

The bus  then took us to pick up our tour of Boston on the amphibious vehicles of the Boston Duck Tours. The "DUCK" first gave us a guided tour of many historic sites of the city including the Boston Common, Bunker Hill, the Big Dig, and Quincy Market. Then the “Duck” entered

the water of the Charles River and cruised up the river with views the Boston and Cambridge skylines. Wee had enough people that had our own Duck plus 15 people on another ! If you want to see more about the tour see www.bostonducktours.com. The bus then returned us to the hotel at for our final farewells for 2008.
